My name is Jessica, and this blog is usually about running. Unless I want to post about something else.
I was a competitive swimmer for 10 years. Distance swimming was my niche, until I got tired of the endless miles and became a sprinter. After I quit swimming my freshman year in college, I ambled aimlessly through the exercise world, feeling a bit lost without a competition venue, or a coach to mold my exercise hours. I dabbled in a bit of everything. Dance, yoga, endless ellipticaling, jiu jitsu, free weights, kickboxing, exercise videos, weight machines, and no exercise at all. Almost 2 years ago I started running with my husband using Vibram FiveFingers, and never looked back. We trained for a 10k together, then a half marathon, and then a marathon, and then further.
I currently work as a middle school librarian, and am really enjoying working with kids and faculty as I help them navigate today’s information-rich world (and sometimes running races or teaching them how to do handstands).
I also just learned how to knit, and am enjoying it a little too much for a librarian who owns 3 cats.
